'Empress'

Inspired by the childlike empress. Purity of mind during chaos. Drawn with coloured pencil, pastel pencil and soft pastels.

'Guardian'

"Etia anō āku mata me te mata-ā-ruru e tīwai ana
Me te mata kāhu e paro noa rā kai te tahora!
My eyes are like morepork eyes turning from side to side,
Like the eyes of a hawk who soars over the plain!"
- Traditional Maori Proverb
The morepork was seen by the Maori as a messenger to the spiritual realm. This is about keeping your spiritual eyes open.
Searching and scanning forth like the morepork or the hawk; alert, bright, piercing through the darkness with an ever watchful eye.
Drawn with coloured pencil and pastel pencils.

 'Rustique Bride'

Commissioned by Rustique Wedding Design. Drawn with coloured pencil and pastel pencils.

'Ulla'

Ulla is of Old Norse origin, meaning "will, determination". This piece is about overcoming the very thing that scares you the most, becoming
immersed in it, covered by it and seeing beyond it, regaining peace in the midst of that fear. Drawn with water colour pencil and pastel pencils.

'Manawanui'

Maori name meaning stout hearted, patient and determined. She was an experiment with Acrylics and that name simply stands for what
I was needing to be at that season in life. Painted with Acrylics with coloured pencil.

 'St Catherine'

Commission
Drawn with water colour pencil and pencil.

'Peace'

Literally depicting a peaceful countenance, she was what I was needing for that season in life. Drawn with water colour pencil and pencil.

'Love Lost'

Love was lost, temporarily. This was the moment of heart break. The soul crippling ache that left me floating, lost.
But now I'm found.
Drawn with water colour pencil and pencil.
